Fr. Peter Mussett grew up in the Denver metro area with his parents and two siblings. From a young age Fr. Peter cultivated his love for creativity and design and he went on to study art at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. During his time as a student at UNC, Fr. Peter joined a FOCUS Bible study which was led by John Zimmer and would later become the first vocation to come out of a FOCUS bible study. In 1999 he graduated with a degree in studio art, photography, and sculpture. That same year, Fr. Peter joined the first class at St. John Vianney Seminary in Denver. As ordination approached, Fr. Peter prayed to be assigned to university ministry at least once in his life because his time at UNC showed him how practicing the faith as a college student can change the course of one’s life. God answered his prayer, and Fr. Peter has been blessed to serve as the Pastor and Director of University Ministry since 2011. This position takes on many roles. However, spiritual father, servant, and formator of future missionaries are among the most important.
Fr. Peter is an adventure seeker and maker of endless things. He’s lost count of how many hobbies he has and he is always acquiring new ones. Currently, some of his favorite things are scuba diving, woodworking, and drone photography.
Fr. Peter says, “Everything is grace, and we are on a constant pilgrimage. I am grateful for the opportunity to help people understand the narrative of their lives!”
