Intellectual Formation: The Mind
Our intellectual formation imparts the richness of the Catholic Tradition so that students will know the truth and the truth will set them free. We believe that the Catholic Faith and human reason are not opposed. Rather, they are like two wings by which the human person rises to the contemplation of truth. By using our reason and investigating God’s self-revelation, we can come to know the truth: the truth about God, ourselves, salvation, morality, and the true path to happiness in this life, and the next.
Spiritual Formation: The Soul
We are created by God and for God. He has made us for Himself and our hearts are restless until they rest in Him. Therefore, our spiritual formation seeks to immerse students in His life and love, in the path forged by the Saints: a personal and intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. Through the Sacraments, meditation on the Word of God, prayer, retreats and spiritual direction, we offer students the opportunity to know and love the One for whom they were made.
Apostolic Formation: The Mission
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the fullness of truth and compelling in itself, it speaks to the heart, mind, and soul of the human person in every age. Our apostolic formation seeks to develop students as Catholic leaders with the heart of an apostle, equipped and eager to share Jesus Christ with others. Through the personal witness of life and words, outreach on campus, the defense of life, service to the community, poor and marginalized, students have the opportunity to impact the Church and the world with compassion, love, and dedication.
Human Formation: The Heart
God’s grace builds on our human nature, it does not destroy it. Therefore, the formation of our humanity is at the foundation of our intellectual, spiritual, and apostolic life. We endeavor to help students continue to form their humanity in the image and likeness of Jesus Christ through a vibrant communal life, an education in the love of truth, loyalty, honesty, respect for themselves and others, a sense of justice, compassion and balance in judgment and behavior. In short, to become men and women of integrity.
